My approach to practice is client–centered and relational. I believe that each individual’s innate ability to heal or change is facilitated through a trusting client/therapist relationship. My role as therapist is to listen closely for the meaning within an individual’s story as we work together to heal, problem solve, and establish goals. To facilitate this I incorporate mindfulness, focusing, emotion processing, Gestalt and narrative techniques. I see clients for:
- Stress and anxiety
- Depression and sadness
- Grief and loss
- Relationship difficulties
- Separation and divorce
- Life-stage adjustment
- Inter-cultural/ inter-religious issues
- Gender, religious or cultural identity concerns
- Body-image concerns
I offer counseling and psychotherapy to adults, couples, and older adolescents. Sessions are 1-hour long. Saturday and evening appointments are available. While I believe that face-to-face appointments are preferable, telephone appointments can be arranged as needed.
